In 2009, after 11 years in Sugababes, Buchanan, the final original member, was replaced by Jade Ewen. Sugababes released Sweet 7 (2010), after which they signed to RCA Records, before taking an indefinite hiatus in 2011. That year, the original lineup re-formed as Mutya Keisha Siobhán and released the single "Flatline".
Group members Siobhan Donaghy, Keisha Buchanan, and Mutya Buena wrote the song with Jony Lipsey, Cameron McVey, and Paul Simm for the band's debut album One Touch (2000). It was released as the album's third single on 9 April 2001 and reached the top 30 in Germany and the top 20 on the UK Singles Chart.
