Roronoa Zoro (ロロノア・ゾロ, Roronoa Zoro, spelled as "Roronoa Zolo" in some English adaptations), also known as "Pirate Hunter" Zoro (海賊狩りのゾロ, Kaizoku-Gari no Zoro), is a fictional character created by Japanese manga artist Eiichiro Oda who appears in the manga series and media franchise One Piece.
Zoro attacks Kuma, who reveals that he has eaten the Paw-Paw Fruit, and shows his ability to repel attacks, move considerable distances almost instantly and repel the air to attack his opponents. Zoro is quickly outmatched, and Sanji and Usopp's attempts to help him are rendered futile by Kuma's hard body and ability to block projectiles.
The episodes are based on Eiichirō Oda's One Piece manga series, and adapt the 34th through 39th volumes of its source material over thirty-five episodes. They initially ran from April 17, 2005 through April 30, 2006 on Fuji TV. Twelve DVD compilations, each containing three episodes, were released by Toei between January 10 to December 5, 2007.
