Newry is a borough in Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 231 at the 2020 census. [4] It is part of the Altoona, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area and one of the communities comprising the Altoona Urban Area. It was named after Newry of Newry in Northern Ireland.
It merged into St. James Regional Catholic School in 2012. [2] St. John Chrysostom School (Wallingford) – Merged into Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School in 2012. [2] Originally Nativity BVM in Media was to be the location of the merged school, but St. John Chrystosom appealed and the archdiocese changed its decision. [77]
St. Patrick School was the parochial school of the St. Patrick parish. Formed in 1922, the original school was staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Later, the school taught grades 1 through 8 and offered kindergarten and preschool programs as well. The school closed in 2012, part of a massive reorganization effort in the archdiocese. [4]
The structures are across from St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The residence was built in 1884 and is a two-story brick structure in the Second Empire style. It has been adapted for senior citizen housing. The school was erected in 1892-1894 and is a hipped roof, three story structure on a high basement in the Second Renaissance Revival style. [2]

St. Patrick's Old Cathedral School, at 32 Prince Street between Mulberry and Mott Streets in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was a Roman Catholic Pre-K through 8th grade school. It was one of the oldest schools in the Archdiocese of New York and in the city.
