The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) is a regional water authority in the U.S. state of Michigan.It provides drinking water treatment, drinking water distribution, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment services for the Southeast Michigan communities, including Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties, among others.
Shelby Charter Township, officially the Charter Township of Shelby, is a charter township located in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The township is an affluent northern suburb of Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the population was 79,408, [2] up from 73,804 in 2010.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 3,951 people, 1,388 households, and 1,059 families residing in the township. The population density was 109.8 per square mile (42.4/km 2 ). There were 1,502 housing units at an average density of 41.7 per square mile (16.1/km 2 ).

Rochester was the first European settlement in Oakland County when it was founded in 1818. It became part of the Avon Township in 1835 and incorporated as an autonomous city in 1967. It is mostly surrounded by the city of Rochester Hills and also borders Shelby Township to the east.
District 8, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, was based in northern and coastal Macomb County to the north of Detroit, including the communities of St. Clair Shores, Harrison Township, Mount Clemens, Chesterfield Township, New Baltimore, Lenox Township, New Haven, Ray Township, Utica, Shelby Township, Washington Township, Romeo, and Bruce Township.
