James Presley Elledge (January 8, 1943 – June 10, 2012) [1] was an American country musician. Born in Nashville, Tennessee , [ 2 ] Elledge sent a demo tape to Chet Atkins when he was 18 years old, which resulted in a recording contract with RCA Victor . [ 2 ]
1961 – Jimmy Elledge released a version as a single on RCA Victor, peaking at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. [3] [4] His version, which was recorded on September 7, 1961, sold more than one million copies. 1962 - Arthur Alexander released a version on his album “You Better Move On”
