This course provides an essential introduction to property law: what is the legal significance of ownership, how does it arise, what forms does it take, how are conflicts among owners prevented or resolved, and how may ownership end?
This course will cover rules governing the initial acquisition of property; the scope of the basic rights of ownership and limits on these rights; the forms of ownership; the transfer of property over time and to multiple parties; and the coordination of interests of neighboring property owners.
