Holy Trinity Church is the original parish church of Southchurch. The oldest parts of this church date back to the Saxon era, with later additions in the early 20th century. [2] Christ Church (Church of England) is in Colbert Avenue, just to the east of Southchurch Park East. This parish was carved out of Holy Trinity in 1922.
The church was founded in the 7th century as a chapel by the Saxons. From the 12th century until the 17th century it was added to, and became the largest church in the county of Essex, as well as one of the oldest churches in the county. The church is also the largest in both Southend and South East Essex. [4]

The school also offers other additional languages to the students, for example Chinese, Russian or Polish, but these come at a personal expense to the student themselves. The school achieves excellent results at A level and other examinations, consistently above national averages, in part because of the selective entry system.
