Alkaline Trio is a compilation album by American punk rock band of the same name, released April 18, 2000 through Asian Man Records.It includes all of the tracks from their EPs For Your Lungs Only (1998) and I Lied My Face Off (1999), as well as both tracks from the "Sundials" single (1997) and several tracks from other compilations.
The album includes all twelve tracks from McLachlan's 2006 Christmas album, Wintersong and five other Christmas songs. "God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen / We Three Kings" was recorded backstage by Barenaked Ladies and McLachlan using one mic and done in one take at Planetfest in December 1996 for US radio station WPLT. They took the five tracks recorded exclusively for the British and American editions of their debut album, and seven tracks from Home for Christmas, and packaged them together with a short interlude, "Family Affair", to create The Winter Album, made exclusively for release in Germany.
