Geeta Dutt (born Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri; 23 November 1930 – 20 July 1972) [1] was an Indian playback singer and a famous Hindi and Bengali classical artist, born in Faridpur before the Partition of India.
He was the writer of the prayer song, "Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum" and "Ye Kaun Chitrakar Hai". He directed a Bollywood film Rangila Rajasthan (1949) for which he wrote the lyrics and composed three songs. He also wrote the lyrics for film Mata Mahakali (1968); a song is "Jo ugta hai be dhalta hai" Some of his evergreen poems:

The tracks "Matargashti" and "Tum Saath Ho" were the chart toppers on the Indian Music Charts. The soundtrack was adjudged as one of the best albums of 2015, wherein A. R. Rahman and Alka Yagnik were nominated under Filmfare Award for Best Music Director and Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer , respectively.
