The Lewiston Daily Sun was a newspaper published in Lewiston, Maine.Established in 1893, it became the dominant morning daily in the Lewiston-Auburn city and town area.In 1926, its publisher acquired the Lewiston Evening Journal and published the two papers until they merged into the Sun Journal in 1989.
Evergreen Cemetery is a garden-style cemetery on Stevens Avenue in the Deering neighborhood of Portland, Maine. With 239 acres (97 ha) of land, it is the largest cemetery in the state. [ 2 ] Established in 1855, in what was then Westbrook , the cemetery is home to one of the state's most prominent collections of funerary art.
Gerald Evan Williams was born in Bridgewater, Maine to Myron Luther Williams and Lottie Belle "Belle" (Barrett) Williams. [7] His father's family had lived in Bradford, Maine since before the Civil War, [8] but in his teens Myron moved to the rural potato-growing area of Bridgewater, where he lived with his sister's family, before his marriage. James White was born on August 4, 1821, in the town of Palmyra, Maine. The fifth of nine children, James was a sickly child who suffered fits and seizures. Poor eyesight prevented him from obtaining much education and he was required to work on the family farm. At age 19 his eyesight improved and he enrolled at a local academy.

Thomas Lichtenberg (July 13, 1940 – May 26, 2013) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach also at Morehead State University (1979–1980), the University of Maine (1989), and Ohio University (1990–1994), compiling a career college football coaching record of 26–59–3.
