Indian Air Force Academy, Dundigal (ICAO: VODG) is a Defence Service training institute located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district 43 km (27 mi) from Hyderabad, in the Indian state of Telangana. [ 2 ] The academy was set up to train cadets from the Indian Air Force cadre of officers.
It has classes from I to XII, each with four divisions. The school has a football ground, two basketball courts, two assembly grounds (Primary and Secondary), one scout & guide ground, one volleyball ground, one cricket pitch and one children's park. The school is also known as Kendriya Vidyalaya no 1, Air Force Station, Pune, OR KV1.

Established in 1943, as the 'School of Military Engineering' (SME) at Roorkee, post independence in 1948, SME moved to Dapodi in Pune. apart from imparting training to Indian army officers and those from friendly countries, the college also plays an advisory role to the Indian Army, and is involved in research projects.
