Tournament of Elements is the fourth season of the animated television series Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu (titled Ninjago from the eleventh season onward). The series was created by Michael Hegner and Tommy Andreasen. The season aired from 23 February to 3 April 2015, following the third season titled Rebooted.
The pilot episodes exist in 2 versions, a two-episode version, titled "Way of the Ninja" (which combines "Way of the Ninja" and "The Golden Weapon") and "King of Shadows" (which combines "King of Shadows" and "Weapons of Destiny"), respectively, each about 22 minutes long, as well as a four-episode version, each about 11 minutes long, which is listed here.
In January 2021, The Lego Group released a soundtrack video on YouTube titled Ninjago: A Musical Journey, which celebrates the music of the show in four parts. Garmadon is the main antagonist for the pilot episodes, and a secondary antagonist for the first two seasons. In Season 2, he is cleansed of evil and becomes a sensei to the ninja. In Season 4, he is sacrificed to the Cursed Realm and resurrected in Season 8 as a being of pure evil.
The theme of the twelfth season is video games, with the introduction of a fictional video game world in the Ninjago universe named "Prime Empire". The plot follows the main ninja characters as they search for the video game's creator following its re-emergence in Ninjago City.
