1959 - James A. Michener wrote "Hawaii", a historical fiction novel where much of it was set in Lahaina. It was the setting for the first Christian missionaries to Hawaii in the 1800s. 1966 – Kui Lee wrote and sang "Lahaina Luna." 1973 – Loggins and Messina had their song "Lahaina" lead off their 1973 album Full Sail.
