Eidfjord is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The municipality is located in the traditional district of Hardanger . The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Eidfjord , where the majority of the municipal population lives.

The village sits about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east of the Hardanger Bridge along the Norwegian National Road 7 .
The Eid Fjord lies in the municipalities of Ullensvang, Ulvik, and Eidfjord in Vestland county. The inner part of the ford is called the Simadal Fjord [ 5 ] ( Norwegian : Simadalsfjorden ). The villages of Ringøy and Bjotveit lie on the south side of the fjord, and Djønno lies on the north side.
Old Eidfjord Church (Norwegian: Eidfjord gamle kyrkje) is a former parish church of the Church of Norway in Eidfjord Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Eidfjord. It was historically the church for the Eidfjord parish which is part of the Hardanger og Voss prosti in the Diocese of Bjørgvin.

Eidfjordvatnet (English: Lake Eidfjord) [1] [2] [3] is a moraine-dammed lake in the municipality of Eidfjord in Vestland county, Norway. The 3.55-square-kilometre (1.37 sq mi) lake is located immediately southeast of the village of Eidfjord. Øvre Eidfjord village lies on the southern shore of the lake.
The Old Eidfjord Church was used for over 700 years by the people of Eidfjord before being replaced with a new church. By the 1970s, the parish decided to build a new church. Sigurd Sekse was hired to design the new building. Construction began in 1979 and it was completed in stages.
