Thomas Michael Cox (19 January 1930 – 2 August 2018) [1] [2] was a British Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wandsworth Central from 1970 to 1974 and then for Tooting from 1974 to 2005.
Thomas Cox (1787 – November 9, 1844) was an American pioneer, politician, and surveyor from what is now Kentucky. His family moved to the Indiana Territory, where Cox joined the territory militia. He was promoted to a lieutenant colonel and may have seen service in the War of 1812. After the war, he became a surveyor to help support his family.

Tom Cox was born on December 4, 1962, in Xenia, Ohio. He grew up in Xenia playing baseball, basketball football, and track. [1] He attended high school at Xenia before going to college at USC. He spent 1981 to 1985 playing center for their football team, the Trojans. He was part of their 1985 Rose Bowl team.
