The EP was released in promotion for his sixth studio album, Loso's Way 2: Rise to Power. The EP is the retail packaging of his mixtape There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service. [3] Fabolous stated he went into the studio to record new material for the EP. [3]
On January 15, 2013, Fabolous announced that the first official single from Loso's Way 2 would be "Ready". [4] He described the song as a great radio record that can be very successful. Fabolous enlisted Brown to perform the hook and bridge, feeling that he was best suited to do so.
It peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100—becoming the only single from Loso's Way to enter the chart—and received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Later in 2009, a pop rap remix of the song (often referred to as "Throw It In the Bag Pt. 2") was released.
