Alsip is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 19,063 at the 2020 census. [2] It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Alsip was settled in the 1830s by German and Dutch farmers. The village is named after Frank Alsip, the owner of a brickyard that opened there in 1885. [3]
The racial makeup of the township was 64.53% White, 12.50% African American, 0.71% Native American, 2.04% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 9.93% from other races, and 10.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 22.40% of the population.
