Trịnh Công Sơn (February 28, 1939 – April 1, 2001) was a Vietnamese musician, songwriter, painter and poet. [1] [2] He is widely considered to be Vietnam's best songwriter.

[2] His pen names included Minh Duệ, Phong Trần, Lệ Thanh, and finally Hàn Mặc Tử, [3] by which name is known today. He grew up in a poor family, his father having died when he was young.
