The Vestas V164 is a three-bladed offshore wind turbine, produced by Vestas, with a nameplate capacity of up to 10 megawatts, a world record. [1] Vestas revealed the V164's design in 2011 with the first prototype unit operated at Østerild in northern Denmark in January 2014. [ 2 ]

The wind turbines are manufactured by Vestas with 66 metre blades and a tip height of 152 metres above the ground. Western Power constructed a 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) transmission line from the wind farm to the existing 330 kV transmission network near Eneabba. [7] [6] In 2023 funding was announced for a potential expansion of the wind farm. [8]
The wind farm consists of 46 Vestas V126 turbines, each with rated capacity of 3.45MW. The turbines were installed in five rows spread over 7 hectares (17 acres). Each turbine is mounted on a tubular steel tower measuring 117 metres (384 ft) high and weighing 313 tonnes (308 long tons; 345 short tons). [1]
