The fluke TL175 test leads I normally use for everyday testing always seem to have 0.5 ohm resistance reading. I’ve tired cleaning the test leads and meter connection ports but it makes little difference. I have even tested a set of brand new fluke TL175 lead and the have about the same resistance. I tested them both on a Fluke 87v and 289.
Because as best I can tell, Fluke doesn’t make any 3m multimeter leads, just 1.5m. (They sell the TL221 straight leads that come with couplers to extend existing leads.) However, there is the TL1550B test lead set intended for their megohm meters.
My Fluke 87 started beeping when I tried to use it again after leaving it sitting under the house on an aircon external unit hot and vibrating. Solder joints look fine. Small amount of debris in the receptacles. Probably just enough in the groove in the bottom corner to short the halves of the terminals.
Re: FLUKE 289, shows message "warning leads connected incorrectly", I have detected. Osram SFH 325 FA-3 worked too. "The Diode DS2 is an infrared {LED} diode. Replacement with an SMD 0805 sized IR diode with 940nm wavelength seems to work just fine. In my case a Harvatek HT-170IRAJ was used.
My Hirschmann leads are rated to 60Vdc, but these are stackable banana types that I use on the bench power supplies. 0,5 mm² conductor not sure what the AWG is. That was some thin cables my test leads are 1mm² with double isolation and 2.5mm² with single layer of isolation. Logged.
