Devices 4 the Disabled (D4D) collects and redistributes used Durable Medical Equipment to those in need in the Chicago area. We provide wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, and other equipment for free because we believe no disability should prevent people from living the life they want to live.
We refurbish used medical equipment that otherwise would end up in landfills. We provide it for free to those who need it most: those without insurance, who are underinsured or lack the finances to purchase the equipment they desperately need.
That being said, there are certain medical materials and equipment that we cannot accept. We do not accept items such as oxygen equipment, syringes, or bandages. We also do not take large items such as van lifts, porch lifts, and stair lifts for inside a home. Request equipment. DONATE equipment.
Local medical supply giant medline donated thousands of dollars in durable medical goods – wheelchairs to shower benches to much needed walkers with seats. Their donation to the charity Devices 4 the Disabled started with a story done six years ago.
D4D welcomes our new preferred wheelchair service technician (on the right), Stuart Kuntzelman, ATP. Stuart has been in the medical equipment industry for more than 25 years and works with S&J Services (630-806-3036). He specializes in working on custom wheelchairs for disabled individuals. That’s what he did for Robyn Heath.
