The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, originally The Olympic Hotel, is a luxury hotel in downtown Seattle, Washington. A historic landmark, the hotel was built on the original site of the University of Washington's campus. [2] The hotel opened in 1924, and in 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. [3]

The hotel was renamed the Mayflower Park Hotel in 1974, after it was bought for $1.1 million by a limited partnership that gave control to Marie and Birney Dempcy. The hotel had been in foreclosure and was in need of repairs, necessitating an extensive renovation. [5] [7] The hotel currently has 160 rooms, [1] and six meeting and banquet rooms. [8]
