Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT, WB), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), is a public state university located in Haringhata, West Bengal, India. Established in 2001 by the West Bengal legislature, it is fully funded by the Government of West Bengal. [2]
The college offers B.Tech in Ceramic Technology, Information Technology and Computer Science and Engineering. There is an intake capacity of 48 students (40 through WBJEE and 8 through JELET respectively) per department. The B.Tech courses of the CSE and IT departments were introduced in 2001 and 2000 respectively.
The B.Sc. (Tech.) the degree was changed to a B.Tech. in 1998 in line with AICTE's wish to bring parity with other engineering degrees in India.
