Normanby le Wold is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England.It is in the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and about 5 miles (8.0 km) south from the town of Caistor, and 17 miles (27 km) north-east from the city and county town of Lincoln. [1]
The route begins at Candlesby and runs 14 miles (23 km) northbound to Caistor, following closely an ancient ridge trail across the spine of the wold. It climbs to a height of 98 metres (320 feet) above sea level near Tetford, and, on a fine day, provides a view of the hamlets, fields, hills and landmarks of the area, such as Lincoln Cathedral, Boston Stump and the North Sea.
Snipe Dales is a country park and nature reserve in the Lincolnshire Wolds near Hagworthingham in Lincolnshire, England. [1] [2] The reserve is one of the few remaining examples showing the Wolds as they were. Snipe Dales comprises a raised heathland nature reserve at the west and a semi-natural mostly coniferous woodland country park at the east.
Tetford is in the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, running from Louth in the north, to Horncastle in the south. The village is 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north-east from Horncastle, 10 miles (16 km) south from Louth and 8 miles (13 km) north-west from Spilsby.
With over 8 miles (13 km) of railway to re-build and four level crossings to re-instate, there is a lot of work to carry out. The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is currently aiming towards Utterby halt (the next adjacent level crossing in the direction of Louth) and is also currently rebuilding the whole layout at the Louth end of the yard.
Ruckland is a village in the civil parish of Maidenwell, and about 6 miles (10 km) south from the town of Louth, in the East Lindsey district, in the county of Lincolnshire, England. It lies in the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In 1931 the parish had a population of 21. [1]
