I was recently at a Cracker Barrel and the Christmas tree had a garland made of fabric (grosgrain) ribbon that looked just like old fashioned “ribbon candy”. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it. Is ribbon candy essentially just hard candy? I see people on TikTok eating it like chips 😂 I love hard candy so either way is fine I just want to know what to expect.
Horrocks has a decent vintage style candy selection. I bet you'll find some there! I would try Sweetland Candies on Plainfield. I believe all confections are made in house and possibly carry ribbon candy. Peanut Store in Holland has it for sure.

I agree that ribbon candy is so pretty. My family usually put it out around Christmas. That other hard candy was out year round. Sometimes a piece of that candy was run of mill, flavored sugar, hard candy. Sometimes it was a relatively thin shell of hard candy around a grainy textured, gel center. I preferred the ones that weren't filled.
