The 48-bed hospital is located south of downtown Arlington on a 17-acre (6.9 ha) property; Cascade Valley also operates five medical clinics and a freestanding ambulatory surgery center. [1]
The need for a new hospital on the Springfield side of the Willamette River became evident in 1948 when the river flooded, cutting off access to the existing Sacred Heart Medical Center in neighboring Eugene.
