Culpeper Battlefields State Park is a state park in Culpeper County, Virginia. The park was authorized for creation by Governor Glenn Youngkin on June 21, 2022 and officially dedicated on June 8, 2024. Many of the sites are already protected by other land preservation organizations.
The forest serves as a recreation area with various uses. It features approximately 5.1 miles (8.2 km) of multi-use trails, which may be used for hiking, mountain biking, trail riding, and geocaching. The forest is open to the public for recreation activities during daylight hours. Camping and motorized vehicles are prohibited. [1]
The park, located along the North River, has a 145-site campground with a pool, playground, and hiking trails. The UTMB Grindstone Festival, an endurance running event including a 100-mile race , takes place at the park each fall.

Savage Neck Dunes Natural Area Preserve is a 298-acre (121 ha) Natural Area Preserve located in Northampton County, Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay. [2] Fifty-foot-tall (15 m) dunes within the preserve are among the highest points on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
