Re: Battle For Middle Earth II Hi deedoubleyou, welcome to TSF. Believe it or not, I used to have the exact same problem. It seems the game has trouble creating files in Vista. Give this a try: Search for a folder named AppData Then open Roaming-> My Battle for Middle Earth 2 Files. You'll probably find that the folder is empty.

The options.ini file isn't the issue unfortunately. I've tried compatibility mode, reinstalling, and the ini fix. None have worked for me so far. I hope someone's able to figure it out. Battle for Middle Earth 2 and the expansion are both great games.
While playing Battle for Middle Earth 2 I am having this problem-- everything is destroyed exactly 3.30 minutes after the game starts and I am defeated. This happens every time I get to play the game. I reinstalled the game but the problem persists. Is there any way to get rid of this problem?

I own a valid copy of The Battle for Middle Earth II, as well as the Rise of the Witch-King expansion pack. My parents computer used to be Windows 7, and was able to play the game just fine. They also just recently upgraded their Windows 7 computer to Windows 10, and the game still works on their computer even as Windows 10.
