Originally known as The Methodist, [3] the 28-acre [citation needed] Eastern Cemetery is located at 641 Baxter Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, abutting Cave Hill Cemetery. [1] [3] The grounds were purchased by two Methodist Episcopal churches and used for burials by 1844. [3] It hosted Louisville's first crematoriums. [4]
The district, or a portion of it, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as West Main Street Historic District, due to its containment of some of the oldest structures in the city. The buildings of this district boast the largest collection of cast iron façades of anywhere outside New York 's SoHo district. [ 2 ]
West Suffolk was an administrative county of England created in 1889 from part of the county of Suffolk. It survived until 1974 when it was rejoined with East Suffolk. Its county town was Bury St Edmunds. Before the introduction of county councils, Suffolk had been divided into eastern and western divisions, each with their own quarter sessions.
It was opened as the Bury and Suffolk General Hospital on 4 January 1825. [3] It was extended in 1861 and balconies were added in 1908. [2] It became the Suffolk General Hospital in 1902 and the West Suffolk General Hospital in 1929. [3] After joining the National Health Service in 1948, it moved to Hardwick Lane in Bury St Edmunds in 1973. [3]
West Suffolk District is a local government district in Suffolk, England. It was established in 2019 as a merger of the previous Forest Heath District with the Borough of St Edmundsbury . The council is based in Bury St Edmunds , the district's largest town.
