On August 9, 2021, a new variant of the phone called the Samsung Galaxy A12 Nacho was announced. This variant of the phone is powered by Samsung's in-house Exynos 850 [ 7 ] SoC with an octa-core CPU and 8 nm process instead of the previous MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, in addition to the operating system being updated to Android 11.
