I was hoping someone might have a shot in the dark about a flexlm install on a clients machine. Here's the checklist... (1) Windows NT 4.0 Workstation SP 5 (I realize the limit of 10 tcp connections, we will use UDP) (2) Existing AdLM install exists and is running (3) Plenty of room on the C Drive ...
The c:\flexlm folder contains some magical files that allows flexlm to work (they have to be there). They keep information about what process ID the flex is running as. Flexlm creates new files every once in a while just to have fun as far as I can tell. To check the rights on this folder, right click the folder and go to Properties.
On our old XP computer I could add an environmental variable - FLEXLM_TIMEOUT - and set the timeout to 1000000 milliseconds and this always seemed to work, even over slow connections. On our new Windows 7 Pro computers even bumping the timeout to 5000000 or more only works maybe 50 to 75% of the time.
FLEXlm License finder Your application was not able to obtain a license because the FLEXlm license manager could not determine where to find the lecensing data it needs. Please choose one of the following. Specify the license Server or Specify the license File If I enter the license server or the license file it will open up AutoCAD2002.

We have a mix of AutoCAD (with toolsets), AEC and PDM licenses on a single license server and want to prevent users consuming multiple seats. Eg. if somebody launches AutoCAD and then Navisworks Manage they end up consuming both an AutoCAD and an Industry Collection seat. I discussed this with a col...
Hi folks, I put together a Docker container for running the FlexLM server utilized by Maya. The image I put together works for Maya 2014 which is the version of Maya that I own and use. I bet the image will work for other versions of Maya and other Autodesk technologies past and present as FlexLM seems rather unchanged over the years.
According to our experience, the pysical addres (MAC)s use in the FLEXlm license file can be any of the physical addresses on your machine. It does not have to be the one that is currently active. FLEXlm is checking for all the MAC addresses on the machine and if the one listed in the file is there they you are fine. Please check the following: 1.
The nice thing about FlexLM is that it ties itself to a NIC by the NIC's MAC address so it doesn't matter if you have 1 IP address or a 10 IP addresses tied to that NIC, nor does it matter if you have 10 different NICs in that machine either. The only thing you need to make sure of (which is obvious) is that the NIC you tie FlexLM to has to be
We are having a problem with our FlexLM and AutoCAD 2004. We currently have 5 licenses deployed by our server, and are constantly hitting the limit. When I check the Flex Manager, I notice that some of the licenses are logged as in use, but I know that the user is not accessing AutoCAD. Some of the ...
