Lacking 35 Remington data for 140 grain bullets, I used the start load for 180s- 35.0 grains of H4895. I also stumbled onto some low velocity cast bullet data, using pistol powders, in various centerfire rifles. One of the 180 grain 35 Remington loads listed is 7.0 grains of Winchester 231 for around 1050 fps.

One scope I like the looks of because of weight, length and price is the Bushnell "Legend Ultra HD" in 1.75 -5 X 32. Model is 851532.
The couple of .35 Remington 336s I have loaded for have not been picky at all. 200 gr Hornady RN with RL 7, IMR 3031 and IMR 4064 have all produced excellent accuracy. The .35 Remington Marlin 336 is a pleasure to load for, shoot, and carry.

If rust is minimal I would say $450-$550 depending on part of the country. The 35 remington chamber does demand more money. I paid $550 for a clean 35 SC model made in 1955 a few years ago and felt price was fair. I don't think it was ever carried hunting and shot very little if any.
The 35 Remington is a fine cartridge and has withstood the test of time since 1908 for good reason. The Marlin Lever Gun is excellent for use in brush country because it is easy to mount and gives opportunity for a quick second shot when needed. The .358" bullet at 200 grains does have greater energy (on both ends) than it's cousin the 30-30.

(a 30-30) If there's one thing I've become certain of it's that there's too much certainty in the world. Re: Scoping a 35 Remington Marlin 336. guyandarifle # 5436640 07/19/11.
Archie. My Marlin 336A in .35 Remington, with a 24" barrel was made in @ 1955. It has the "waffle top" receiver, and I've had mine for well over 50 years. It's a plain Monte Carlo stock version, and it's "bulky" compared to the ones, you'll find today. I have a 4X Bushnell scope on mine, and it still has the iron sights, etc..
Re: Leverevolution ammo in .35 Remington. Reloading, although associated with shooting, is a hobby in it's self. It is a hobby in which the purpose is to find the most accurate or most velocity that a given rifle/cartridge combo can produce. The combinations are almost limitless with dozens of powders, bullets, and other components available.
Fort Worth, TX. Marlin 336A in the hard-hitting .35 Remington. Marlin made very few of these in .35 Remington with the 24" barrel, and this one is in outstanding condition for a 70 yr old rifle, with 90-95% original bluing, original wood, and excellent, shiny bore with sharp, ballard rifling (no microgoove rifling on this beauty), which is ...
