The North Side is defined for this article as the area west of Lake Michigan, north of North Avenue (1600 N.), and east of the Chicago River — plus the area north of Fullerton Avenue going west of the River and north to the Chicago city limits.
The combined area is bounded by Lake Michigan on the east, the Chicago River on the west, North Avenue (1600 N.) on the north, and 26th Street (2600 S.) on the south. This area runs 5.25 miles (8.45 km) from north to south and about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from east to west.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 3, 2010. The community covers an area of about 41 acres (0.17 km 2); its rough boundaries are N. Glenwood Ave to the west, Winona Street to the north, Sheridan Road to the east, and Ainslie Street to the south.

Collinwood is a historical area in the northeast part of Cleveland, Ohio.Originally a village in Euclid Township, it was annexed by the city in 1910.Collinwood grew around the rail yards of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway (now CSX) and is divided by these same tracks into the neighborhoods of North Shore Collinwood and Collinwood–Nottingham.
