A plot summary is not a recap. It should not cover every scene or every moment of a story. A summary is not meant to reproduce the experience of reading or watching the work. In fact, readers might be here because they didn't understand the original. Just repeating what they have already seen or read is unlikely to help them.
Shields and Rangarajan (2013) recommend that new scholars develop a system to do this. Part of the system should contain a systematic way to take notes on the scholarly sources. If the article's long enough to have several sections in the body, but still less than roughly 32,000 characters in length, aim for a lead section of about two paragraphs. For very long articles, the lead should be no more than four paragraphs, and the paragraphs should be no more than four or five sentences each.
For example, instead of starting a plot summary with "It is 2003", which puts the reader in the frame of reference of the work, start with "In 2003," which extracts the reader from that frame. Plot summaries should be written as prose, not as lists or timelines.
In publishing and certain types of academic writing, a running head, less often called a running header, running headline or running title, is a header that appears on each standard page. [1] Running heads do not usually appear on display pages such as title pages , or on other front or back matter . [ 2 ]
