Ellis W. Williamson (June 4, 1918 – January 28, 2007) was a United States Army Major General who served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.He led the 173rd Airborne Brigade, the first US Army unit to deploy to South Vietnam and later commanded the 25th Infantry Division there.
He graduated from the Army Command and General Staff College in 1955, and undertook graduate studies at Columbia University from 1957 to 1958. [9] From 1958 to 1961 Baldwin served in the International Plans and Policy Division of the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, G-3. [9] In 1962 he graduated from the National War College.
