In May 2016, church volunteer Chaz Wood, then 23, was charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor. According to police report, Wood fondled a 10-year-old boy on December 6, 2015. He was a volunteer at the NewSpring campus in Anderson, SC. [20] In December 2017, Wood pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and battery. [16]
