Thanks for your interest and replies. I mistakenly wanted the optimum app but the app I actually needed was Internet Explorer. I use optimum.net as my default and when I hit I E app it takes me to the Optimum web page. I somehow deleted the IE app. causing my confusion.

For Windows RT devices, you cannot install apps from anywhere but the Windows Store, I don't see an Optimum app there. Silverlight isn't compatible with Windows RT and can't be added to it. Please mark this reply as an answer if it answers your question. DO. DorothyVictoria.

Workaround 2: Create a new (NON OPTIMUM) email address that will load onto your Outlook, then open your optimum account through your browser, locate preferences, and select "Mail Forwarding". Enter your newly created email address in the specified field and you will now get your Optimum mail through your Outlook App.
Optimum App will install when using Maxthon browser. I went through the same thing and almost bricked my laptop trying to get it to work with Explorer Edge, Explorer 11, Safari and Opera. I also sat through two excruciating remote sessions with Optimum support.

Hello caliche48, A Silverlight app from Microsoft seems very unlikely, you'd have to contact Optimum to see if they are planning to develop and offer an app in the Windows Store. If you go into the Store and search for TV in the Search Charm, there are lots of apps there.

Optimum, my email provider, only gives 5MB of storage and my folder is much larger. Having set up my email account as IMAP, it seems that even though I delete my emails from the server (but leave them in Outlook), they "backup" on to the server and cause me to exceed my storage on the server causing me to not receive incoming emails.
