The Jackson House stands on the south side of Waldoboro Road (SR 32), just south of its junction with Maine State Route 126, in the village center of Jefferson. The property has shoreline on Damariscotta Lake to the south. It is a 3 + 1 ⁄ 2-story wood-frame structure, with a gambrel roof and clapboard siding.

It is located at the junction of Maine State Routes 126 and 213. It was built in 1869, and served as the community's town hall until 1958. It is now maintained by the local historical society as a museum.
