The Metropolitan area of Puebla or Greater Puebla is the fourth largest agglomeration in Mexico with a population of 3.199 million. [2] This agglomeration includes 10 municipalities of the state of Puebla, and 13 municipalities of the state of Tlaxcala. It does not include the city of Tlaxcala.
Puebla has many different climates owing to its range of altitudes. It has an average temperature of 16 °C (61 °F) but this varies greatly locally. There is a rainy season from May until October with an overall precipitation of 801 mm (31.54 in). The state has eleven different climate zones, but five predominate.
Puebla is one of the smallest states of Mexico. With nearly 34 thousand square kilometers (13,000 sq mi), it is 21st in area within all federal units ( Spanish : entidades federativas ). Despite that, it is the sixth most populous state, with approximately 6 million persons.
