There are more than a few issues with Allen as a suspect: the manner in which he became a suspect, he bears no resemblance to descriptions of the Zodiac, he made what seemed to be intentionally incriminating statements and seemed to want people to think he was the Zodiac (not something the real killer would likely do), the lack of any evidence that can't be dismissed as coincidence.
Agree that the Zodiac is long dead. However, I do believe that it will be resolved, what happens is that the case has been abandoned by law enforcement, but as I said before, a complete review of the case could resolve it, because at that time there was not good communication between the police of the counties.
