Sociedad Estatal Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (Spanish for "State Society for State Lotteries and Wagers"; SELAE) is a Spanish state-owned company.Assigned to the Spanish Ministry of Finance, it is responsible for the management, operation and marketing of all types of lotteries and gambling nationwide or whenever they exceed the scope of a region.
It was launched on 7 February 2004 by France's Française des Jeux, Spain's Loterías y Apuestas del Estado and the United Kingdom's Allwyn. The first draw was held on 13 February 2004 [1] in Paris. [2]
