He descibes in the book, steam Cylinders are from the 1 1/2" scale Mich-Cal Shay. Does anyone know the source for these? I hope Coles is back running soon, as my 77 year old father is still owed several castings for his steam engine kit that was mostly shipped.

Sherline machines are pretty capable for their size. Hudson Honey over on the Chaski Live Steam board works for Sherline and she has made some amazing things with the machines she has. Look her up and pm her. If you can't find her, let me know and I'll connect you. Andy Pullen
For the main steam dome and backhead go to the auto parts store and buy real gasket material. I have a sheet of FEL-PRO KARROPAK that is about 0.014" thick and it is good quality treated paper. You can buy thicker sheets (1/32 and 1/16 of gasket material if you want.
