Ohio Achievement Assessment. The Ohio Achievement Assessment (commonly stylized as the OAA) is a standardized test meeting NCLB requirements. Grades 3-8 are tested in reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and writing. [1] Before 2010, the Ohio Achievement Assessment was known as the Ohio Achievement Test. [2]
The following standardized tests are designed and/or administered by state education agencies and/or local school districts in order to measure academic achievement across multiple grade levels in elementary, middle and senior high school, as well as for high school graduation examinations to measure proficiency for high school graduation.
In 2001, the Ohio legislature directed the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) to develop the OGT based on the soon-to-be-adopted academic content standards. [2] The first official OGT was given in March 2005. It replaced the ninth grade proficiency test as a graduation requirement for the class of 2007.
