"Run" is a song by Northern Irish–Scottish alternative rock band Snow Patrol, released in the United Kingdom on 26 February 2004 as the second single of their third album, Final Straw (2003). The song was conceived in 2000 by frontman Gary Lightbody after an accident he had during a bender. "Run" has been described as a Britpop power ballad.
Snow Patrol founded Polar Music, a publishing company run through Kobalt Music. The venture was independent from the band's publishing deal with Universal Music . Polar Music was planned to sign artists regardless of their genre, as drummer Jonny Quinn explained: "There is no agenda—if it's good enough and we believe in it 110%, we will sign it."
The song is Snow Patrol's biggest-selling single to date, ending 2006 as that year's 14th best-selling single in the UK.
