Loop fission (or loop distribution) is a compiler optimization in which a loop is broken into multiple loops over the same index range with each taking only a part of the original loop's body. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The goal is to break down a large loop body into smaller ones to achieve better utilization of locality of reference .
Query by Example (QBE) is a database query language for relational databases. It was devised by Moshé M. Zloof at IBM Research during the mid-1970s, in parallel to the development of SQL . [ 1 ] It is the first graphical query language, using visual tables where the user would enter commands, example elements and conditions.
In this example, there is an output dependence between the jth element in S1 and the j+1th element in S2. Here, c[j+1] in statement S2 is written to in one iteration. In the next iteration, c[j] in statement S2, which is the same memory location as c[j+1] in the previous iteration, is written to again.
The SQL language is subdivided into several language elements, including: Keywords are words that are defined in the SQL language. They are either reserved (e.g. SELECT, COUNT and YEAR), or non-reserved (e.g. ASC, DOMAIN and KEY). List of SQL reserved words. Identifiers are names on database objects, like tables, columns and schemas. An ...
In the C programming language, Duff's device is a way of manually implementing loop unrolling by interleaving two syntactic constructs of C: the do-while loop and a switch statement. Its discovery is credited to Tom Duff in November 1983, when Duff was working for Lucasfilm and used it to speed up a real-time animation program.
The LiteralExp must be a compiled time resolvable numeric expression, and may involve operators, as long as such operators involve compile time static value. The EXIT optional statement is the equivalent of the C statement break , and if present, execution of the SWITCH structure will end when the EXIT statement is reached, otherwise it will ...
See note about C-like languages; the Else clause of a single-line If statement can contain another single-line If statement. Select« Case» variable Case case_pattern 1 instructions ... «Case Else instructions» End Select: IIf(condition, valueIfTrue, valueIfFalse) Visual Basic .NET: If(condition, valueIfTrue, valueIfFalse) Xojo
The actual statement is in columns 7 through 72 of a line. Any non-space character in column 6 indicates that this line is a continuation of the prior line. A 'C' in column 1 indicates that this entire line is a comment. Columns 1 though 5 may contain a number which serves as a label.
