The idea of a community-based institution to represent the unified interests of Gwinnett County businesses was first organized on May 22, 1947. Since its inception, Gwinnett County continues promoting target industry efforts across the world, with nearly 3,000 members representing large and small, domestic and international businesses.
Duluth was originally Cherokee territory. [8] When Duluth was established in the early 19th century, it was primarily forested land occupied by tribespeople. An Indian trail, called Old Peachtree Road by the settlers, was extended through the area during the War of 1812 to connect Fort Peachtree in present-day Atlanta with Fort Daniel near present-day Dacula.
The Elisha Winn House served as Gwinnett County's first courthouse. The Historic Gwinnett County Courthouse (no longer used). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 437 square miles (1,130 km 2), of which 430 square miles (1,100 km 2) is land and 6.4 square miles (17 km 2) (1.5%) is water. [13]

Mechanicsville is an unincorporated community in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States, just south of Buford Highway around Button Gwinnett Road. It is located roughly 3.5 miles away from Interstate 285. The Mechanicsville schoolhouse, built in 1911, is located at the intersection of 3rd Street and Florida Avenue.
