Under the skins it's Desktop Dyno. I've used both and they are the same. Difference is Comp has all their cams already loaded in and offers suggestions for a cam that would complement the combination. A nice touch. If you're a novice it's far better than just guessing. But it's still an issue that if you put garbage in you get garbage out.

I am going to run splayed 4-bolt main caps and a crank girdle, along with rocker girdles. But I don't think the desktop dyno cares. They make a kit to convert center bolt heads to accept classic perimeter bolt valve covers and give enough clearance for girdles. The car is a 1968 Mustang Fastback with manual brakes and steering, no A/C.

I just got my hands on this program and I love it. Has anybody done a side by side of this program and a real dyno? The program's math seems to be right, I just want to know how accurate it is. So, I have a 1696 351w with stock rotating assembly, valve train, and heads. I have a holly650 4bbl on a performer rpm intake manifold.

Remember, it's just a program. I used this to get me going over a decade+ ago during my build, along with the cam manager, but now just using a real dyno. You can't beat the dyno, or even better yet, track results. No sure on the fuel, the engine will tell you, but would guess a good 91 pump, non ethanol if I would have to guess.

Here are a few dyno pulls from back in 2011 when I was testing the limits of my RPM "Air Gap" and how it compared to my 2925 Super Victor. Again, not your basic 327, lots of attention to the little details. This was on 91 pump, 10.47cr, FT pistons, .500 lift solid FT cam, my ported Iron Sportsman 2.02 heads, with my own home built Holley 750 carb.

Thank you for doing the math, and those are some "nasty" numbers for a 327... just incredible. It took Hot Rod magazine 10,000 dollars to build a 327 that made just 15-20 more horses than that! I am happy with 400 of each and I think that is still obtainable with my budget. I don't know what...

As Jeff mentioned above, look at the AFR 180's. And Z28-79 hit the nail on the head with the nod to the IK180 Brodix. Total Seal makes great, high quality rings, no doubt about that. Call Total Seal directly or work with your engine builder to see what will be best for you in your...

I got a crank scraper for my BBC many years ago and it is still in a package. I thought on it and splash oiling is a good thing for a daily driver. I want the extra oil tossed onto the cylinder walls and cam.. how much of that does the crank scraper eliminate. You may make more HP at high RPM...
