On May 7, 2017, Harman won the Wells Fargo Championship held at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, North Carolina, for his second PGA Tour win. Harman made a 28-foot putt on the 18th hole to win by one stroke over Dustin Johnson and Pat Perez , who finished at 9-under-par. [ 10 ]
After two editions as the Quail Hollow Championship, Wells Fargo attached its name to the event in 2011. On April 30, 2019, a five-year extension was announced, and Wells Fargo's sponsorship of the tournament currently runs through 2024. On December 8, 2023, Wells Fargo announced it would no longer sponsor the tournament, starting with 2025. [6]

Originally sponsored by the Kemper Corporation, the inaugural event was played in 1968 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Massachusetts, before moving to the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina the following year, where it stayed through 1979.
