Hagstrom's RetroScape Series consist of authentically recreated guitars from Hagstrom's history. The intention being to bring modern playability to these great designs without compromising any of the retro-vibe. A Guyatone LG-140T electric guitar, aka the Kent 533 Videocaster (c.1964–65) Kent was a 1960s/1970s guitar brand. [1] [2] The "Kent" brand was established by Buegeleisen and Jacobson, a musical instrument distributor based in New York City, in 1960. [1] Early Kent guitars were made by Hagström, based in Sweden. The guitar came equipped with two humbucking pickups. Four-hundred and eighty Jimmys were produced in the initial run, they were more or less prototypes because Hagström intended to outsource the production of the Jimmy to the Swedish Bjärton factory, but before this could happen Bjärton closed its doors for good.
The next year mass production of the H8 began. The H8 was based around a regular four stringed Hagström bass but all strings were doubled much like a 12 string guitar. The lighter string was placed above the standard string and tuned one octave higher than usual. This gave the H8 a unique tone which was very suitable for bass solos.
The Hagström Swede Patch 2000 is the first guitar/synthesizer hybrid. It was manufactured by Hagström in collaboration with Ampeg.The guitar appears to be a normal Hagström Swede but the neck is specially wired to transmit an input to a synthesizer when the strings come in contact with the frets.
Albin Hagström learned to play the accordion at an early age, and he started performing at local dances and parties. In 1921 he bought two German accordions.
