The Nissan UD series of diesel engines were produced by Nissan in a range of configurations from three to twelve cylinders, all sharing the same internal dimensions.
On February 1, 2010, Nissan Diesel changed its name to UD Trucks. At the same time Nissan Diesel Trucks Japan, a 100% owned sales company of UD Trucks in Japan, changed its name to UD Trucks Japan. [citation needed] On September 12, 2012, UD Trucks of North America announced that it will no longer be part of the North American truck market.
In the United States, this generation was sold as the UD 1800-3300 but it was also imported by Navistar International and sold as the International Model 400, 500, 600, 700, and 900. The smallest Model 400 was a Class 5 truck with a 17,640 lb (8,000 kg) GVW and Nissan Diesel engines of 160 or 180 hp (119 or 134 kW). [ 2 ]
